SxS(TM), New Camcorder’s Memory Card from Sony and Sandisk
Tokyo-16-Apr-2007. Sony and Sandisk has agreed to develop SxS (S-by-S) memory card specification, an ExpressCard(TM) industrial standard compliant. This new memory card specification that allows high-speed transfer will be adopted by Sony on their “XDCAM EX™“ series professional camcorders.

SxS will use flash memory technology and connects directly to the computer via PCI-Express bus uses ExpressCard|34 modules with the compact dimension, width: 34mm, height: 5mm and length: 75mm or half the size of PC Cards(TM).
With the optimized technology protocol developed by Sony and Sandisk to control communication between SxS and hardware will allows high-speed transfer up to 800 Mbps of large files (like hi-def video) to PCs for non-linear video-editing.
