Nikon D40 vs Nikon D80 dSLR

Sure both cannot be compared directly. Both are in different class. Nikon D40 is in family DSLR class, but Nikon D80 is for more serious class. I will not review both. I don't have the capability to do that :).

Recently I have dream to own one of them. Maybe I will go for D40, because it is the cheapest DSLR right now. But, in the same time I want more advance one, D80. Its price almost twice than the former. Then, I told my dream to my wife. Aargh, she doesn't allow me to buy either one. Canon ? Nope, she doesn't me to allow to buy camera anymore. She asked me to familiarize with my Panasonic Lumix FX5 Point and Shoot Camera first
Finally I realized, she is correct. I think I just affected my friends. Some of them bought dSLR recently, from Konica Minolta Dynax 5D, Olympus E-500, Canon Digital Rebel XT/350D and D70s. Actually I can get great picture also using my Lumix P&S camera. Initially I want to use the DSLR when I go home to my town two weeks later and to take picture of my baby if he/she born. Now, I think I can use the budget for other purpose… buy funds
